Sketching (2015-)

There are some photographs that continue to stick in my mind long after I made them, even though they don’t fit in with what I’m working on.  They intrigue me and resonate with me, but I don’t yet know what to do with them.  They’re like sketches that I put in a box for safekeeping and take out and look at from time to time.  Sometimes, though, if I spread them out and look at them as a whole, rather than one by one, I notice common threads that tie some of the images together, and I begin to see the rough form of a project.  The images in Sketching are one such collection of sketches, made over several years, that together form the genesis of a new work in progress.
